出生臺灣新北市鶯歌鎮，畢業於國立藝專(今台灣藝術大學)1980 年在香港被 列選國際亞洲十大傑出才藝青年。1983 年赴美留學;1984 年畢業於華盛頓州立 大學(B.F.A.)、紐約州立大學 1985 年藝術碩士 ( M.A.) 及 1994 年美術碩士 (M. F. A.) 。從事專業繪畫近 40 年。
鄭麗雲同時亦為美國聯邦政府的合作畫家，多次與美國國務院的合作計畫。歷經 布希、柯林頓、歐巴馬到現在的川普共六任總統，作品展覽於 16 處美國大使館、 總領事館及世界各政府機構，並榮登美國國務院藝術大使，參與包括波蘭、丹麥、 約旦、新加坡、馬來西亞、包貝多斯、賴比瑞亞等歐、亞、非洲的美國領事館， 超過十四個國際展覽。
目前在世界各國的美術館公共空間以及私人收藏超過 500 多件。其中包括:美 國巴特勒美術館、美國紐約州立美術館、美國威斯康辛美術館、匈牙利布、達佩 斯、美國 Johnson & Johnson 強生和強生、美國和加拿大巴克列國際銀行總部 Barclays Capital Bank 、 NEA 美國國家文藝基金會、國立臺灣美術館、國立臺 灣藝術大學，及臺灣高雄市立美術館及其他公共及私人單位。
Ms. Wen resides in New York City as a full-time artist. She has exhibited nationally and internationally since the early 1980s. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her BFA from Washington State University, MA, and MFA from the State University of New York at Albany.
In 2005, the Art in Embassies Program purchased the three paintings that were exhibited in Barbados Embassy, for their permanent collections. Leigh was awarded a 1997 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. And, in 2000, she was honored by both New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and The Helena Rubinstein Fellowship. In 2013, she won the National Yu-Shang Competition. Recently in 2014 and 2016, her works were included in The National Fine Art Museum Collections in Taiwan.
Hundreds of her works were included in both private and public collections. Her paintings had been featured in many major magazines including Art in America, New American Paintings, Art in Asia, Sotheby’s Auction Magazine, Christy’s Auction Magazine, Better Home and Gardens, Harper’s Bazaar, Architecture, Water Front Home and Design, San Diego Home and Garden and Interior, Art Trade Journal, Marie Claire, Taiwan
